Fun Obedience and Puppy Training

We believe that dog training (no matter which discipline you are working in) is about respect between the handler and their dog and understanding how the handler teaches their dog to learn to do new things in a fun way which means getting the rewards right!

We are running classes of 45 minutes each with a maximum of 6 dogs at a time in a friendly and safe environment encouraging confidence and learning.

Dog Agility classes including pre-Agility

Dog Agility is a popular sport which has grown hugely over the last two decades. It is great exercise for both handler and dog alike and helps in building that all important bond between you.

We are Agility Club Approved (ACAI) instructors with experience in working, training and competing with a variety of breeds and cross-breeds.

We offer both fun agility training as well as tuition aimed at the budding competitor. We also offer advanced training for those who are already competing. Several of our dogs are successfully competing in open competition and we’d love you to join our enthusiastic and supportive group!

Personalised training is offered on a 1 to 1 basis to focus on your specific requirements.

A bit about Ann and her Dogs
There have been dogs in my life for as long as I can remember and I currently share my day to day life with seven dogs!  Fitz, (an 12 year old chocolate Labrador), Molson, (a 9 year old Wire Fox Terrier cross Collie),  Rafe, (a 5 year old rescue Kelpie cross goodness-knows-what) and Khali (an 11 month old Australian Working Kelpie). There’s also another chocolate Labrador, another Kelpie and of course Parker the Border Collie cross Border Terrier.

The diversity of their breeds and their very individual characters got me into the world of dog training by necessity.  With the experience I gained from that, I have evolved a system of training that is fun and effective for the dog and handler regardless of age, in agility, obedience and trick training.

Although I also set up my own club, “A To Zooom” to cater for the increased demand for high quality dog and handler training and after adding the formal qualification of Agility Club Approved Instructor some 8 years ago,  I still offer training and instruction with both Aylesbury CTS and FRACAS.

I’ve competed, both in Obedience and in Agility for over 10 years.  During that time Fitz retired himself from both obedience and agility to concentrate on a new position of "Official Travelling Companion”.  Molson eagerly took up the challenge of competition team leader!

Molson has qualified for numerous national and international agility finals including the Novice Olympia Pairs finals at The Horse of the Year Show.  The Arden Grange Starters Final (which he won), The Agility Club Starters Challenge (where he was runner up).  His training has allowed a successful obedience career too and he was the highest placed "ABC" at CRUFTS 2009 in the KC Special Pre-Beginner Obedience Stakes and he returned to CRUFTS 2010 as part of the Southern Team in the Inter-regional Obedience Competition where he won both his class and helped to ensure that the team won the competition overall.  For the last two years, he has qualified for CRUFTS YKC jumping and agility with his YKC handler Scott.

Molson also performs as a model and canine actor, he’s best known for his starring role in  BBC TV CBeebies' Tommy Zoom and his "celebrity status" was quickly noticed and he’s now a Canine Celebrity Ambassador for Fish4dogs!

Most recently he has featured in the 2011 PDSA adverts and information leaflets and will be featured in the July 2011 edition of Your Dog Magazine, where he demonstrates some of his skills in an article describing how to train your dog to do tricks.

Although a completely different character to Molson, Rafe is catching up fast and demonstrates the fact that all dog and handler relationships can be completely different but with the right training, rescued dogs can be very successful too.

Rafe has reached the Novice Final at Dogs in Need for two years running and continues to make progress.

My youngest dog is Khali and she’s a huge challenge!  Partly because she is from a line of tough working dogs and consequently her natural herding instincts are very strong!  She is also very opinionated about everything and usually expresses that opinion at the top of her voice!  There are only two speeds; flat out or full on.  I started her socialising, basic handling and pre-agility training when she was 8 weeks old and she is working on her formal obedience exercises.  She is already showing great potential, watch this space!!
